Let’s talk about the all-too-familiar cycle: You post every day for a week, you’re in your content era. Then suddenly?
You vanish.
A week goes by. Then two.
Before you know it, you’re completely off the grid and the algorithm forgets you even existed.
We’ve all been there. But the good news is, there’s a simple fix. And it doesn’t have to cost a thing.
Why disappearing from your socials isn’t ideal (even if it’s unintentional)
Life gets busy. Business gets even busier. And when social media starts to slip, it’s easy to think, “I’ll post something next week.”
But here’s the thing: your audience can’t stay connected with you if you keep ghosting them. Consistency isn’t about posting every single day, it’s about showing up enoughthat your brand stays top of mind.
Out of sight = out of mind, and that can really slow down your growth (and your sales).
Scheduling tools are your secret weapon
One of the best ways to stay consistent without burning out? Scheduling your content.
When you bulk-create a few posts or stories ahead of time, you can schedule them to go live automatically, no need to be online or manually post every day. It’s like setting it and forgetting it, but in a smart, strategic way.
You don’t need to spend a penny
The best part? You don’t need to fork out for expensive software to get started. There are free scheduling tools already built into the platforms you’re using:
Meta Business Suite – Schedule both Instagram and Facebook posts and stories.
LinkedIn – Has its own built-in scheduler right inside the post box.
TikTok & Pinterest – Also offer free scheduling (if you have a business account).
If you want something with a bit more flexibility or analytics, you can explore free plans from tools like Metricool, Later, or Buffer. But honestly? You can get pretty far with the free options already available to you.
A little planning = a lot more peace of mind
You don’t need a 30-day content calendar and three months’ worth of video, even just scheduling your next 3–5 posts can take a huge weight off your shoulders.
Imagine opening your phone and not feeling the pressure to post something right now. Bliss.
As a mum of a 3 year old I am well aware that you can’t always predict what will happen over the course of a week which is why I think scheduling your content is a game changer even if you don’t do social media as your full time job!
Let’s chat! Do you use a scheduling tool?
If yes, which one do you love and why?If not, what’s stopping you?
Drop your thoughts in the comments or hit reply. I’d love to know what works for you (and maybe share a few of your recs in a future post!).
